7th & 8th GRADE SPRING RETREAT | April ‘04

My weekend at the 'Fruits of the Spirit' Retreat (April 2nd-4th) was very fun and it brought me a lot closer to God. One thing that really brought me to see God at this retreat was writing Him a letter and then writing a letter as if He was writing back to me. That was a bit harder, but I think I did quite well. We learned about the nine fruits of the Spirit: joy, kindness, goodness, peace, self-control, patience, gentleness, faithfulness and of course, love. I also saw God in other people and the spiritual fruits that they have in them. Others wrote down what gifts they saw in me, and I was so happy to see how much people love and appreciate me for what I do. One very cool thing was the egg hunt.   Nathan took us out on a hike and when we stopped, we all talked and Nathan told us, ''People are like plastic Easter eggs, they're all nice and great on the outside but when you find what's inside you get a surprise.'' Then he told us to go look for our eggs – it was so fun. If you are looking for a good way to find God and make new friends you HAVE to go on a retreat!
